About Dr Karin Lindgaard

Karin Lindgaard Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist

One of the key points of my work is that human beings are deeply interconnected with one another and the natural world, but that each of us is also unique and changing.

I have developed a unique perspective through more than twenty years of research, practice and personal inquiry.

My therapeutic work is led by my clinical training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. This bodywork is a subtle but profound way of amplifying the natural healing processes within the human body.

I completed a 2-year Diploma with Body Intelligence and have been a fully registered craniosacral therapist for about seven years.

While not everything about this therapy resonates with me, its understanding of safety and relationship, and of the possibilities for healing the nervous system, are hands down the most effective trauma treatment I’ve found so far.

I am also profoundly influenced by Vipassana meditation. This technique is a very simple method for gaining deep insight into the mind, and into the relationship between the body and consciousness. Over time I understand more and more just how valuable this technique is and I incorporate many insights from my own practice into my therapeutic work. Meditation is an anchor for me, but one that I hold lightly, and a refuge to which I always return.

I have a Doctorate in Philosophy from Swinburne University, in Melbourne, Australia. My doctorate was a little unusual. I wrote an interdisciplinary thesis about consciousness and feeling based on a philosophy of nature and the science of complex systems.

My book, published in 2022, is based on this work and on further research from within and outside of academia in the past decade. You can find out more about my book and my work in philosophy at my embodiment philosophy website.
