My book, Taking Heart and Making Sense: a new view of nature, feeling and the body, was published in April, 2022.
Conversations with my colleague, biodynamic craniosacral therapist Steve Haines, inspired and supported me during the process of writing. Six months after publication and as his inaugural podcast, Steve interviewed me about my book.
The book is predominantly a work of philosophy, based on my many years of research. The world view I describe in it could contribute to our understanding of biodynamic craniosacral therapy. It is a theory about feeling and its relationship to consciousness, the body and the broader world.
Steve is the director of the Body College in London and a previous director of Body Intelligence. He is the author of a series of graphic books which explain the relationship between the body and brain in relation to pain, trauma, anxiety and touch. These are wonderful works, presenting scientific literature in an accessible way.
During the podcast we talk about many concepts from my book as well as their relationship to touch and bodywork. You can listen to the podcast here or on the Body College website.
